Introducing/Integrating Cats Post in here for help and information about integrating cats. Cats are generally territorial and don't usually take well to the sudden appearance of an unknown cat in their territory. For the best chance of a successful outcome, always slowly introduce the cats to each other over a period of days. Never just plop a new cat in with other cats. Intercat Problems or Concerns This may or may not include aggression. Cats who used to get along, sometimes wind up developing problems. Often this occurs when a younger cat reaches the age of maturity, and tries to take over as "top cat", or from a case of "redirected aggression". Dealing with lost, stray or feral cats (such as TNR, befriending frightened strays, rescue groups) Many stray cats make wonderful pets, if you give them a chance. Most were someone's pet at one time, but wound up homeless for some reason, having gotten lost or dumped out of their former home. Don't ignore the strays!
